Comparative Studies on Flotation Performance of Saturated Fatty Acids and Unsaturated Fatty Acids Separated from Hogwash Oil

چکیده
Low flotation recovery, high pulp temperature, and large dosage of reagents are the typical disadvantages when using mixed fatty acids (MFA) prepared from hogwash oil for directly. To determine type acid that yields poor performance, performance adsorption characteristics saturated (SFA) unsaturated (UFA) separated MFA were studied in our work. GC-MS, FT-IR, iodine value detection melting point measurement showed UFA contained –(CH=CH–CH2)n- groups had much lower point. Quartz tests used to compare SFA, which excellent low-temperature floatability, recovery was 35 percentage points higher than SFA at 20 °C pH = 11.5. Zeta potential, FT-IR XPS analysis indicated could adsorb onto surface activated quartz through chemisorption hydrogen bonding. However, stronger more favorable; thus, reason have presence SFA.

Isolation and determination methods for brain cerebrosides, hydroxy fatty acids, and unsaturated and saturated fatty acids *
A new method is described for the isolation of nearly pure total cerebrosides from fresh brain. Florisil columns are used to separate the cerebroside hydroxy and normal acids, in the form of their esters, and to separate the saturated and unsaturated esters of each group. The esters within each class are determined by gas chromatography, the hydroxy esters being run as the methyl ethers. Yields...

There is good scientific evidence that dietary fatty acid composition is involved in the aetiology of many diseases. Increasing the supply of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) may reduce the risk of CHD. AIMS The aim of this study was to investigate whether the background intakes of total dietary fat, monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) modulate the effects of dietary saturated fatty acids (SFA) on metabolic syndrome (MetS). MATERIAL AND METHODS This population-based cross-sectional study was conducted on a representative sample of 4,677 adults, aged 19 t...

Fatty acids, which are the essential nutrients for humans, are an important source of energy and an essential component of cell membranes. They also function as signal transduction molecules in a range of biological phenomena. Recently, an increasing number of physiologic and pharmacologic reports on fatty acids have improved our understanding of the association of fatty acids with certain dise...
متن کاملHydroformylation of Unsaturated Fatty Acids
When hydroformylation of unsaturated fatty materials is done with rhodiu~-tripheny:lphosphine (or phosphite) catalysts, a number of advantages become apparent compared to cobalt carbonyl-catalyzed reactions. With rhodium, the reaction can be carried out (a) at pressures as low as 200 psi, (b) at each double bond location in a polyunsaturated fatty acid, and (c) in high yield and conversion. Sol...
